Intel Core i7-8700 Generasi ke-8 Intel Coffe Lake, Jika Anda cukup familiar dengan prosesor Intel, Anda pasti akan tahu bahwa prosesor ini merupakan prosesor generasi terbaru dari Intel, tepatnya generasi ke-8 atau lebih sering disebut dengan Coffee Lake. Pertanyaannya, apa perbedaan prosesor ini dengan generasi sebelumnya? Jawabannya banyak!

Dimulai dari konfigurasi core dan thread yang digunakan, Core i7-8700 memiliki core dan thread yang lebih banyak, yaitu 6 core dan 12 thread. Jumlah tersebut 50 persen lebih banyak dari prosesor generasi sebelumnya, yaitu Core i7-7700 yang hanya memiliki 4 core dan 8 thread.

Tidak hanya dari konfigurasi core dan thread, frekuensi setiap core pada Core i7-8700 lebih rendah dari Core i7-7700 Prosesor ini hanya memiliki base clock 3,7GHz dan boost clock 4,7GHz. Sementara pendahulunya memiliki base clock 4,2GHz dengan boost clock yang lebih rendah di angka 4,5GHz. Base clock yang lebih rendah di Core i7-8700 memang wajar mengingat jumlah core-nya lebih banyak.

Core i7-8700 juga tampil lebih baik karena memiliki cache yang lebih besar, yaitu 12MB. Dibandingkan dengan Core i7-7700 yang hanya memiliki cache 8MB. Cache di prosesor ini memang lebih besar sebab jumlah core-nya juga lebih banyak.

Yang paling menarik adalah TDP dari prosesor ini. Intel Core i7-8700 memiliki TDP 95W. Angka tersebut memang lebih besar dari TDP Core i7-8700, namun perbedaannya tidak terlalu besar. Sebagai informasi, Core i7-7700 memiliki TDP 91W, hanya 4W lebih kecil dari Core i7-8700 padahal ia memiliki dua core lebih sedikit.
